IT Innovation

Decorative Image of a virtual hand reaching out to a human hand.

At The University of Texas at Austin, we use information technology to explore new ideas and to solve problems in novel ways. In 2024, we explored Artificial Intelligence (AI) in support of the Year of AI. The outcome was an ambitious strategy to establish the University as a world leader in AI by focusing on four key areas: Teaching and Learning, Student Experience, Operations, and Research.

What AI tools are you hearing about?

AI technology is advancing rapidly, with new tools emerging to cover different use cases. To help us better understand the needs of The University of Texas at Austin community, please share your discoveries and explorations in the AI Conversations community team.

Request a Vendor Risk Assessment

AI products must have an active university contract in place and have a vendor security assessment completed by the Information Security Office (ISO) before it can be used with any non-public University data. If you are contemplating using a private generative AI tool or aren’t sure if your use case is covered, contact the ISO.

Contact ISO for a vendor risk assessment or consultation
