Fundamentals of AI

Microsoft’s Fundamentals of AI Guide (PDF)
READ (39 pages)

Don’t be fooled by this being a Microsoft guide to support educators as part of the Imagine Cup Junior Challenge. This content is for the AI student in all of us and makes use of real-life scenarios, case studies, research-based action-oriented tasks, and examples from everyday life as part of the learning. Because it is designed for educators and there’s a handbook missing, you’ll need to skip any hands-on activities, but it’s a great introduction to AI concepts and terminology that will keep you reading. (And Microsoft Copilot itself recommended this as a resource for learning about AI.)

Request a Vendor Risk Assessment

AI products must have an active university contract in place and have a vendor security assessment completed by the Information Security Office (ISO) before it can be used with any non-public University data. If you are contemplating using a private generative AI tool or aren’t sure if your use case is covered, contact the ISO.
